General Info

Tucked away in a शांत corner of Okazaki, Yughino Yugo feels like one of those places you stumble upon and instantly want to keep coming back to. Located at Minaminakamachi-10-4 Motojukucho, this Italian restaurant blends a cozy atmosphere with a thoughtfully curated menu that makes every visit feel a little special.

From the moment you step in, the counter service gives the space an intimate, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of setting where you can watch dishes come together while sipping on a surprisingly great cup of coffee-yes, even for dinner. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and the environment feels genuinely family-friendly, making it easy for groups of all sizes to settle in comfortably. It’s also reassuring to see the restaurant positioned as a transgender safespace, adding to the inclusive and relaxed atmosphere.

The menu leans into Italian cuisine but with a refined, almost artistic touch. A great place to start is the 前菜の盛り合わせ, a beautifully arranged assortment that sets the tone for the meal. Each bite feels intentional, offering a mix of textures and flavors that ease you into what’s coming next. Then there’s the 自家製ニョッキ パルメザンチーズ-soft, pillowy gnocchi coated in rich parmesan that melts effortlessly on the tongue.

One of the standout dishes has to be the 千万町産ミネアサヒとイカ墨のリゾット. It’s a bold combination, yet incredibly balanced, with the squid ink adding depth without overpowering the delicate rice. This dish alone feels like a reason to visit. And if you opt for a full-course experience, the コースのドルチェ brings a sweet, satisfying finish that feels carefully considered rather than just an afterthought.

Dessert lovers shouldn’t miss the 空の酒粕アイスと青じそソルベ. It’s refreshing, slightly unexpected, and leaves a clean finish that rounds out the meal perfectly. It’s clear that every element on the menu has been crafted with attention to detail, which is something you don’t always find in smaller locations.

Reviews often mention the importance of making dinner reservations-and it’s easy to see why. With limited seating and a growing reputation, planning ahead ensures you won’t miss out. Overall, Yughino Yugo delivers a dining experience that feels both personal and polished, making it a standout spot in Okazaki’s restaurant scene.

What customers say?

“ This delicious Italian restaurant located on the historical Tokaido road is set in the former house of the Tomita family a 200 year house fully renovated recently. There is a very interesting small family museum in the nearby Kura. Food was delicious. A nice stop in Aichi Prefecture which is a very interesting place to visit with beautiful nature and very interesting spot related to Ieyasu Tokugawa! Highly recommended ! ”

“ The location was a little hard to find, and I ended up taking the wrong entrance, but the parking lot is adjacent to the hospital and is spacious. The building is a designated cultural property, and the quaint entrance is decorated with yellow nandina flowers. It was fun to choose from a variety of main courses and desserts from the menu, and I ended up full and satisfied with the delicious food. ”

“ I always come here. The food is absolutely delicious, so I often go there for anniversaries or when I want to eat Italian food. The staff are polite and the atmosphere is comfortable. You can enjoy the cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves in fall, and on warm days you can enjoy lunch outside with your dog This time, I visited with three friends for the first time, and everyone left satisfied. Thank you for a fun time. ”

“ This was my first time there. It's a lovely restaurant in a building designated as a cultural property. I ordered the chef's choice dinner. Everything was delicious. ”

“ I'd been interested in this restaurant for a while, and this was my first visit. Priority is given to those who make reservations, and it was a weekday lunch, but even if you can dine without a reservation, it might be a good idea to make one. For lunch, the main course was a choice of pasta, gnocchi, or risotto. Then, there was a choice of an assortment of appetizers or a meat or fish dish. It included dessert and a drink. The price of the A, B, C, and D courses varied, with the most popular being Set D. The dessert platter was an additional ¥300. Some pasta and gnocchi dishes cost more depending on the price. Since we ate each dish slowly, it took about two hours to finish. I couldn't help but stare at the owner cooking alone, with the staff providing support. I was alone, so I sat at the counter and was silently impressed. Next time, I'd like to make a reservation in advance for dinner. Payment is accepted by cash, VISA, and PayPay only. They use many delicious ingredients from the Mikawa region, and the risotto in particular was delicious - they used Mineasahi rice from Senmancho, and the squid ink risotto was delicious. ”

“ I come here for both lunch and dinner, and the menu changes with the seasons, so I always look forward to it! I've always had dinner here for celebrations, and the quality and quantity are so good it's well worth the price! Lunch is reasonably priced, so I'd love to come back for lunch again! I'm also looking forward to the terrace seats, where you can eat with your dog! ”

“ We had the chef's choice course for lunch We made a reservation for 12 o'clock and enjoyed a leisurely two and a half hours. The food was served at just the right time, so we weren't bored waiting for the next dish, and we weren't rushed either, so we had a pleasant time. I ordered a pound cake as a gift and received it the next day, but it was a little dry, which was disappointing The expiration date was a week later, but I still enjoyed the dessert plate that came with the course...? The mosaic tiles on the bar counter just inside the restaurant were apparently award-winning and were chic and beautiful. As the restaurant is a former magistrate's residence, it has an atmosphere that makes me want to see the other rooms. ”

“ We ate the chef's choice course, and every dish was meticulously prepared and made with seasonal ingredients, allowing for a deep flavor. The restaurant is run by someone who moved from a Japanese restaurant, and the fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine, along with the presentation of delicately cut vegetables, is a feast for the eyes. They also have a wide selection of wines, including local and Italian beers, making it a great place to visit when you want to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. ”
